Event info

The global music collective founded by cellist Yo-Yo Ma reunites to debut a powerful new work: Phoenix Rising. Stacked with fourteen groundbreaking performers, the multinational ensemble offers a musical rebirth and celebration as our world emerges from a long and stunning upheaval. Contemporary and ancient, familiar and foreign, Silkroad Ensemble draws on a rich tapestry of styles and instruments: including the Indian tabla, the Celtic harp, the Persian kamancheh, the Chinese yangqin and the Japanese shakuhachi. The group is helmed by Silkroad Ensemble's dynamic new Artistic Director, Rhiannon Giddens, a MacArthur Genius Grant recipient, GRAMMY® winning multi-instrumentalist and vocalist.
